Australian pharmaceutical giant Pfizer Inc (also known as Pfizer, ) has announced that it is investing $1.4 billion in a pilot program aimed at boosting its online pharmacy business in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Pfizer’s Viagra, also known as Cialis, was launched in Australia in February 2018, and it is the first licensed prescription drug in the world to be launched in Asia.
Pfizer is seeking to build a network of over 100,000 online pharmacies in Australia and Asia that will offer men and women the convenience of discreet, easy access to their medication.
“We are investing a significant amount in a network of over 100,000 online pharmacies across Australia and Asia that will offer men and women the convenience of discreet, easy access to their medication,” Pfizer CEO Ian Read said in a statement.
“This is an important step forward in the growth of our Australian pharmacy business and is a testament to our commitment to improving access to men’s health care,” the company’s CEO, Andrew Green, said.
The company also announced a partnership with a new partner, a new partner in the pharmaceutical industry, to help the business manage its operations.
Pfizer said it has entered into an agreement with its partner in the pharmaceutical industry to promote the pilot program and to ensure that the program is conducted as closely as possible to ensure the overall safety and efficacy of the program.
